RTV 13 - High Tear Strength Moulding Silicone
2 component, room temperature condensation curing silicone compound.
Mix ratio = 20:1 (100 grams Part A : 5 grams Part B).
Available as: 21.0Kg, 5.25Kg, or 1.05Kg.
Fast or Slow cure available.
The cured product is an exeptionally flexible rubber with very
high mechanical properties and good shelf life stability.
It's suitable for mould making of intricate patterns with
extremely good pick up of fine details. Softer grades are
better suited for where there are deep undercuts.
Key Features
- High tear strength
- Good with deep undercuts
- High elongation
- Easy degassing
- Available with either Fast or Slow catalyst.
Vertical Application
RTV13 can be used to make mouldings vertical surfaces by
employing Thixotroping Agent BS4. A typical formulation for
good Thixotropy and approximately the same working life of
the normal rubber is shown below:
- RTV13: 95-100 parts by weight
- Catalyst: 5 parts by weight
- BS4 Thixo: 3 parts by weight

RTV 13 - High Tear Moulding Silicone
Poly-condensation RTVs are used in the artistic trades among other things for their ease of use, their high resistance to tearing and their great flexibility as well as their release properties compared to other materials.
